Charles T. Howard

Mr. Charles T. “Chuck” Howard, 78, of Sylvester died Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 6, 2013 at Northside Baptist Church with interment following in the Providence Cemetery. Reverends Richard McNair and Ben McDaniel officiated.

Mr. Howard was born on October 30, 1934 to the late John Lowell and Muriel Kersey Howard in Union City, TN and lived in Worth County since 1976. He was a recycler who loved to wheel and deal, travel, hunt and fish. He had a very strong will and was always cheerful. Mr. Howard was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mr. & Mrs Howard would have celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on November 5, 2013.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Gable Howard of Sylvester; children, Anna J. Howard (Mike) of League City, TX, Stan Howard (Elaine) of Baconton, Jenny Howard Denham (Scott) of Leesburg, Teresa Koon (Larry) of Navarre, FL and Tammy E. Howard of Troy, TN; sister, Sylvia H. Ryals of Philadelphia, MS; grandchildren, Catherine Zapp, Anna O’Connor, Rita Goodson, John Howard, Brent Howard, Margaret Yerby (Chris), Rachael Deriso (Charlie), Carrie Cox (Jeremy), Melissa Koon, Ryan Holbrook and Leah Howard; great-grandchildren, Luke, Brittany and Dillon Howard, Austen Yerby, Mason Cox, Holman, Carter and Jackson Deriso; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers included Dale McDaniel, Chris Verby, Bobby Holton, Kenny Giddens, Mike Roberts and David Lassiter.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Howard was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ginger Elaine on January 3, 1979.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
