Franklin Edwards

Mr. Franklin Edwards, 63, of Sylvester died Monday, July 28, 2014 at Phoebe-Worth Medical Center.

The funeral service was Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Allen and Rev. Chris Hurt will officiate.

Mr. Edwards was born on November 25, 1950 in Moultrie to the late Clyde and Mary Agnes McCorvey Edwards. He had lived in Worth County since 1990. Mr. Edwards served in the National Guard for 14 years. He was employed as a trucker for UPS Freight for 30 years and Southern AG for 5 years. Mr. Edwards loved watching westerns, enjoyed fishing and loved his grandchildren.  Mr. Edwards was a member of First Baptist Church of Acree.

Survivors include his wife Glenda Lilse Edwards of Sylvester; son, DeWayne Edwards of Sylvester; daughters, Luciana Lockwood (Trae) of Shellman, Desiree Edwards Morefield of Albany, grandchildren, Max and Hunter Lockwood;  brothers, Cecil Edwards (Mary) of Doerun, Tony Edwards (Gail) of Albany; sisters, Laverne Tillman of Moultrie, Mary Elizabeth Young of Moultrie and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a brother, Bernie Edwards and a sister, Joann Frazier and three infant siblings.

Pallbearers included, Danny Dunn, David Griffin, Bob Johnson, Donnie Horne, John Weise and Charlie Black
