Ruth Stephens Causey

Mrs. Ruth Stephens Causey, 85, of Fitzgerald died Monday July 28, 2014 at Dorminy Medical Center.

The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Kimball United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Donnie Sloan and Rev. Art Sprinkle will officiate.

Mrs. Causey was born on October 26, 1928 in Worth County to the late Earnest Walter and Pearlie Mae Langdale Stephens. She had lived in Fitzgerald since 1994 having lived most of her life in Worth County. Mrs. Causey was a homemaker and was of the Holiness Faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn C. Cole (Freddie, her husband and caregiver)   of Fitzgerald and Phyllis C. Hall of Doerun; brother, Billy Edward Stephens of Memphis, TN.; 7 grandchildren, Jodie Carole Barefoot, Emilie Ann Thompson, Gwen Singley, Lynn Paramore, F. J. Cole, Jeffery Cooper and Charlie Paramore; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Causey was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip “P.J.” Causey, Jr., on December 24, 1994; a daughter, Frankie Holt Cooper; great-grandson Samuel Thompson, and a brother, Rayford “Pug” Langdale and her sister Ardella Paulk.

Pallbearers included: Jackie Saunders, Eric Causey, Andy Causey, Jerry Saunders, Justin Broome and Bruce Gunn.
