Ella Madge Marshall Marchant

Mrs. Ella Madge Marshall Marchant, 88, of Ty Ty, died Saturday October 18, 2014 at her daughter’s residence.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Banks Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in the Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate.

Mrs. Marchant was born in Turner County on December 17, 1925 to Clyde Matson and Hattie Belle Jenkins Marshall. She had lived in Worth County most of her life and was the owner of Marchant Grocery and Market. Mrs. Marchant was a farmer who earned her GED, her LPN Nursing Degree and worked at the infirmary at ABAC. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, embroidery, playing word find and Dr.Mario. Mrs. Marchant was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty and ministered to the needs of everyone in the community. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Gail Richter (Randy) of Locust Grove, GA, Kate Marchant Hand and her friend Jerry Cross of Ty Ty, Sue Smith (Ron) of Cumming; son, Lee Marchant, Jr. (Gail) of TyTy; grandchildren, Clint Hand (Andrea), Ira Richter( Ashley), Josh Marchant (Cassandra), Sam Richter, Jeremy Smith, Jeffrey Wade (Kelly), Thomas Wade, Se’an Smith, Kristie Lucius (Stephen); 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Ray Marshall of Cartersville, Bernard Marshall of Leary; sister, Judia Grow of Lexington, VA; sister-in-law, Rosanell Tesney Blaxton of Vidalia and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Marchant was preceded in death by her husband Lee Eston Marchant, Sr. on February 18, 20008, granddaughter, Sandy Hand, son-in-law, Jerry Hand and seven siblings.

Pallbearers will be: Clint Hand, Josh Marchant, Jeremy Smith, Ira Richter, Sam Richter, Jeffrey Wade, Thomas Wade and Se’an Smith.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.

Banks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
