It’s hard to believe 2014 is coming to an end, but what a year it was! The year paralleled the message of our 32nd Annual Dinner “Extra, Extra Read all About it”. We participated in record breaking Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Openings. We hosted numerous summits this year that include but are not limited to, a DCA economic Summit, an EAT MEET AND GREET event in the Park, Regional Economics in Education Seminar as well as reinstated our Leadership Worth Class with 16 graduates. We are also proud to announce our Chair, Mr. Chris Shipp is now a graduate of the Leadership Georgia. Needless to say these activities, our Stop and Shop Sylvester Worth County campaign combined with the numerous events we help facilitate and administrate throughout the year, resulted in a very busy year. Be sure and join us on February 5 for “Musically Yours…an Evening WORTH Remembering” where we will highlight our year as well as recognize our Business of The Year, Good Will Ambassador, and Lifetime Achievement recipients. Look for information and tickets to be available soon.
Sylvester Worth County can boast over 150 new jobs this year from new and existing businesses. We would like to thank our partners who helped to make that growth possible. We would also like to congratulate the Worth County School System, Staff and Worth a County Students for having record improvements and accomplishments. They boasted an 80% Graduation rate this past year, which is above the state and regional average. Graduation rates are tied to economic development in a community on many levels. We have a great deal to be proud of in Worth County and our School System is one of them.
To our Directors, staff, partners and members of the Chamber as well as businesses and organizations county wide thank you! With dedicated leadership great things can happen. We are blessed with an abundance of great leaders throughout our community.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and remember to Stop and Shop Sylvester Worth County and keep those tax dollars local, we are WORTH it!
