Mr. Jimmy Hurst, 75, of Poulan died Tuesday February 9, 2016 at Willson Hospice House.
The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Thursday February 11, 2016 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Glenn Piper and Rev. Rocky Duckworth officiated.
Mr. Hurst was born in Scooterville on October 18, 1940 to the late William Henry, Jr. and Martha Bozeman Hurst. He had lived Poulan most of his life. Mr. Hurst was formerly employed with Firestone for 18 years and the Worth County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed hunting and enjoyed making and playing guitars.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Carter Hurst of Poulan; children, Dwayne Hurst (Jane) of Poulan, Gail Dees of Poulan; grandchildren, Patrick Hurst, Heather, Brittany and Megan Dees; great grandchild, Gavin Harris; sisters, Myrtle Green of Sylvester and Jean McDonald of Bonaire, GA.
Pallbearers included Rodney Duckworth, Chuckie Davison, Daniel Ray, Rocky Duckworth, Reid Duckworth and Chris Conger.
