Janie “Polly” L. Fambro West

Mrs. Janie “Polly” L. Fambro West, 98, of Valdosta died Monday, February 8, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center.
The funeral service was held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment followingin the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Siniard  officiated .
Mrs. West was born in Monroe County on December 22, 1917 to the late Clarence Barkley and Elsie English Fambro. She was a resident of Poulan, GA for over seventy years before moving to Valdosta to live with her son and daughter-in-law, H. Harris and Jerry West. She Worked in the Poulan Cotton Mill from the early nineteen forties until its closure and then worked in Tifton with Avondale Mills until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Poulan Baptist Church and was active until her limited mobility in later years.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Hugh H. and Jerry R. West of Valdosta, grandsons; Chris Huguley, Hugh West Jr. (Linda), Jud West (Elizabeth), Troy West Jr. (Sharon), Alan West (Bonnie), Kyle West, John West (Lauren), granddaughters; Jo Rebecca (Becky) Lavies (Doug), Amanda Wierling (Andy), step-grandsons; Guy Byrant and Robert Bryant(Kathy); fifteen great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, 1 special angel Ed Spence, special care givers; Kesha Walton, Lavonda Anderson, Melinda Williams, Brenda McCormick and Geraldine Lee.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband Buford G. West on May 23, 1981 and a son and daughter-in-law Troy D. and Violet West Sr., daughter Mary Nell Huguley Baudo, 5 sisters; Elmer Fambro, Lucy Bonner, Elsie Champion, Bertha Mae Odom, and Mary Bonner; 3 brothers; George Tignor (Tip) Fambro, Clarence Fambro and Ray Fambro, 2 grandsons; Bert Hugely and Dale Huguley, 1 special angel Bill Thompson.
Pallbearers for the service included Guy Bryant, Jud West, Troy West Jr., Hugh West Jr., Chris Huguley, Alan West, Kyle West.
