D.J. Golden, 33, of Poulan died Wednesday February 17, 2016 at his residence.
The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 20, 2016 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Sumner Cemetery. The Rev. Frederick L. Johnson, Sr. officiated. D.J. was born in DeKalb County on December 24, 1982 to Richard Golden and the late Joyce Elizabeth Thompson. He had lived in Worth County most of his life, moving to Albany 3 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, music, wrestling , the beach and traveling.
Survivors include his Ma, Priscilla Souter (Carlton) of Poulan; father, Richard Golden, siblings, Tabatha Shiver (Jason) of Sylvester, Ben Souter (Ashley) of Sylvester, Shanna McCulley (Lynn) of Tifton; aunts and uncles, Jenny Smith (Keith) of Tifton, Lamar Thompson (Debora) of Poulan, Sue Tribulak (Joe) of Shingler, Lynn Purvis of Tifton, Barbara Gray (Jerry) of Easley, SC, Robby Miller of Cordele and Linda Miller of Cordele; maternal grandmother, Margaret Lewis (Mickey) of Tifton.
In addition to his mother, D.J. was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julian Thompson, Stella Alligood, Nellie and Jim Murray.
Pallbearers included Jason Shiver, William Walker, Russ Lee, Lynn McCulley, Jamie Purvis and Zachary Tribulak
