Agnes Inez Apperson Purvis

Mrs. Agnes Inez Apperson Purvis, 85, of Worth County, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her son’s residence.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Moye officiated.

Mrs. Purvis was born in Worth County on November 24, 1930 to the late William Bert & Lillie Newell Apperson.  She had lived in Worth County her entire life. Mrs. Purvis was formerly employed with Coats & Clark and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and shopping.

Survivors include her son, James E. Purvis of Cordele GA; daughter, Diane P. Bowles (Terry) of Leesburg; grandchildren, James Michael Purvis (Tina), Celena Gay (Ron), Curtis Bowles; great-grandchildren, Luke Malone Purvis, Kayla Lynn Purvis, Devyn Brock, Dayton Brock, Jacob Loubier, Caroline Johnson, Asher Bowles; sister, Hazel Shaw of San Bernardino CA; and a brother, Olin Apperson(Dawn) of Albany.

In addition to her parents and five siblings, Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Edward Purvis, on March 17, 2009.

Pallbearers included Dayton Brock, Devyn Brock, Mike Purvis, Curtis Bowles, Neal Gay, Jacob Loubier and Ron Eberle.
