Richard Shepard “Ricky” Powell

Mr. Richard Shepard “Ricky” Powell, 59, of Sylvester died Thursday March 24, 2016 at his residence.

The graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday March 28, 2016 at Clements Chapel Cemetery in Turner County. The Rev. Wilbur Harris officiated.

Mr. Powell was born in Sylvester, GA on January 22, 1957 to Miles Critt Powell and the late Mary Edna Shepherd Powell. He had live in Worth County all of his life and was employed with Transport Equipment Company. Mr. Powell enjoyed shark fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Pam Godwin Powell of Sylvester; son, Critt Powell (Jennifer) of Worth County; daughters, Lena McDonald (Tommy) of Sumner, Dana Powell of Sylvester; grandchildren, Noel McDonald, Kelsey McDonald, Caitlyn Loyd, Hannah Pearson, Gunner Pearson, Sydney Powell, Alie Powell; parents, M. C. and Jewellean Powell of Sylvester; brother, Neal Powell; sisters, Kathy Jennings (Wayne) of Sylvester, Carol Watson (Don) of Sylvester, and Valerie Culpepper (Tracy) of Sylvester.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Edna Shepherd Powell; and his brother, Miles Powell.
