Yesterday at approximately 9:53 p.m., Sylvester Police Units and Worth County E.M.S. were dispatched to 316 Lakeview Drive in reference to an accidental shooting. Jonathan Long, 22, who lives at 316 Lakeview Drive and his neighbor Curtis Creel, 20, were in Long’s kitchen, clearing and cleaning some handguns when the .40 caliber handgun Creel was holding accidentally fired. The projectile struck Creel in the hand, went through a cell phone, and into the thigh of Long. Both subjects were transported by Worth County E.M.S. to Phoebe Hospitals for treatment. No charges will be filed.
