Saturday, October 12th, the Third Annual 100 Mile Peanut Pickin’ Yard Sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, rain or shine. The sale is a tourism effort to promote the region and an opportunity to showcase these cities to visitors who may purchase a home or start a business.
Vendors will be featuring everything from antiques, collectables, hidden treasures, handmade furniture and so much more. Participating vendors will be able to choose from two large multi-organization sites located in the heart of Downtown Sylvester, or they can become an individual vendor and set up along the route within Worth County. “Official Vendor” signs will identify each official 100 Mile Peanut Pickin’ Yard Sale Location site in Downtown Sylvester. Vendors of Sylvester are guaranteed success in sales due to the heavy foot traffic of bargain hunters in the downtown historic business district.
The Downtown Sylvester Farmer’s Market will also be held at the Downtown Train Depot in Sylvester. A Comfort Station will be located at First Baptist Church to provide restroom facilities and free water. This is your opportunity to shop until you drop, and a great way to find unique gifts or decorative items for your home.
The route will begin on US Hwy 41 in Unadilla and travel south to Vienna. Continuing south to Hwy 33 from Cordele through Sylvester, it will loop through downtown Moultrie and will follow 133 through Berlin, and 333 to Quitman.
The bargain shopping is the main attraction, but visitors are also able to enjoy exploring charming towns and communities, the scenic countryside, famous historic sites, delicious regional cuisine and welcoming Southern hospitality.
Church groups, clubs, businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate. For more information or to be included in this exciting event, please contact the Downtown Enhancement Department and ask for Brittany Evans at (229) 430-7735 to secure your vendor spot today.
