James Boyd

Mr. James Boyd, 78, of Warwick died Monday October 7, 2013 at his residence.
The funeral service will be  held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at Red Oak Baptist Church with interment  following in the church cemetery. Reverends John Powell,  Glenn Hobby and Mark Boyd  officiated.
Pallbearers will include Warren Tison, Joel Carpenter, Frankie Childers, Bo Carpenter, Ted Smith, Fred Tison, Rudolph Tison and Lane Posey.
Mr. Boyd was born on March 30, 1935 to the late Cleo Theron and Corine Champion Boyd and lived in Worth County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Boyd sang in several quartets and groups. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member and deacon of  Red Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Johnson Boyd of Warwick; daughters, Lisa D. Page (Kevin) of Warwick and Tammy B. Smith of Rochelle; son, Larry J. Boyd of Albany; step-children, Joyce Savage of Danville, GA and David Johnson (Melinda) of Griffin; grandchildren, Christina Giddens, Marie Page, Jessica Sutton, Chris Saylor, Jonathon Saylor, Ashley Gibson, Kendra Odom and seven great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan W. Boyd who died on June 10, 2006.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.
