Monday evening, the Worth County Board of Education held their second appeal hearing for a student charged with making a bomb threat in a local school. In this second appeal case, a 13-year-old seventh grader at Worth County Middle School was allegedly overheard by two other students claiming that he was going to “blow up the school at 3:00 or 3:05.
This claim was reported to a teacher on January 29 while Worth County Elementary School students were being evacuated for a separate bomb threat on the same day. Because the elementary students were being held in the Middle School gym, this second threat added to the general fear and confusion among students, teachers, and emergency response crews.
