Mary Myrtle Ricks

Mary Myrtle Ricks, 95, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Services were held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Reverend Jimmy Corbitt officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia 31032.
Mrs. Ricks, a longtime member of Shurlington Baptist Church, was presently a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She loved visiting her 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren. Mrs.  Ricks was predeceased by her husband, A. L. Ricks and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Ricks is survived by her children, Barbara Hamm (Robert) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dean Griffin (Neil) of Summerville, South Carolina, Elaine Capel (Ron) of St. Petersburg, Florida, LaVerne Ricks (Debbie) of Macon, Georgia, Jerry Ricks (Sheila) of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Marilyn Varnadore (Richard) of Birmingham, Alabama;  15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren.
