Ira Mark Stone

Ira Mark Stone, 55, of Tifton, died Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors with Dr. Fred Evers and Dr. Danny Ray officiating.  Interment will follow at Pinetta Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwinville, GA. The family received friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be John Setters, Ronnie C. Dunn, Freddie Walker, Henry Cox, Mark Sandifer, and Jonathan Jones.
Mr. Stone was born on May 13, 1958 to James T. Stone and Iris Walker Stone. He was preceded in death by his father on April 19, 2006; his brother, Lyle on May 4, 2012; his maternal grandparents, Ira and Nora West Walker and his paternal grandparents, Ward and Clyde Sandiford Stone.
Mark always lived at home with his parents. He was physically healthy at a younger age but became mentally and physically challenged as he grew in age. He always strived to overcome his disability which in turn made a positive impact on his family and friends. Despite his mental and physical disabilities, Mark blessed the lives of those who knew and loved him and will continue to do so in years to come. In his younger days when possible, he faithfully attended Northside Baptist Church where he was a member. Mark had an infectious smile and enjoyed watching “Wheel of Fortune” and bicycling.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Todd and his wife, Cindy of  Leesburg; his sister-in-law, Karen Stone of Akin, SC; nieces and nephews, Sarah and Michael Golden of Albany, Jason and Haley Stone of  Leesburg, Amanda Slaypen of Akin, SC, and Stephanie and Justin Tatum of Claxton; great-niece Amy Tatum of Claxton; along with uncles and aunts, Lee Harlon (Sonny) and Irma Walker Whitten and Wallace and Sharon Walker, all of Sylvester.
Flowers accepted or donations can be made to Georgia Baptist Children’s Home online at www.gbchfm.org or a charity of your choice.
