Florine Willis Thompson

Mrs. Florine Willis Thompson, 87, of Sylvester died Wednesday February 12, 2014 at her residence.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Sumner Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Howell officiated.
Mrs. Thompson was born on August 31, 1926 in Worth County to the late David Simpson and Margaret Nancy Shiver Willis. She was a native and lifelong resident of Worth County. Mrs. Thompson was formerly employed with the Worth County Board of Education as a bus driver and lunchroom worker. She did private nursing for 20 years. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Isabella Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Oris O. Thompson, Jr. (Katie) of Montgomery, AL and Billy Thompson (Sherrie) of Ashburn; daughters, Joan McCoy of Montgomery, AL and Kathy Thompson of Sylvester; sisters, Ellen Edwards of Ocilla, Lillian Lyon of Albany and Ima Jean Mitchell of Albany; 12 grandchildren and a number of great and great, great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Oris O. Thompson, Sr. on March 21, 2001 and a son, Joe Thompson.
