Larry Ledbetter

Mr. Larry Ledbetter, 88, of Sylvester died on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his residence. The graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Zion Hope Cemetery in Tift County with military honors. The Rev. Charles McCardle and Mr. Larry Waltman officiated.

Mr. Ledbetter was born on April 18, 1930 in McLean, TX to the late Jess and Irene Murphrey Ledbetter. He had lived in Sylvester since 2004 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Ledbetter later retired from the Department of Defense as a computer programmer. He was a member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Poulan Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Ledbetter was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed working in his garden and with ceramics.

Survivors include his daughters, Raynetta Hill of Athens and Peggy Ann Braun of Sylvester; grandchildren, Larry J. Moss-Hill (Angela), Laura Hill, Lisa Miller (Walter) and Keli Gunn (Corey); great grandchildren, Corie Beth Gunn, Brandie Gunn, Alice Miller, Nicholas Moss Hill and Tristan Moss Hill; sister, Sally Howard of Mineral Wells, TX and a number of neices and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Wood Ledbetter on December 17, 2004.

Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester was in charge of arrangements.
