Peggy M. Shattles

Mrs. Peggy M. Shattles, 56, of Albany passed away from complications of a lengthy illness after a hard fought battle on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at The Phoenix at Albany. A memorial service was held at 4:00 PM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Sherwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Bevel officiating.

Mrs. Shattles was born on February 10, 1962 in Americus.  She worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years.  Mrs. Shattles was a dedicated nurse who specialized in caring for patients at the Dialysis Clinic Inc.  She was a caring person who gave her all in being a loving mother, aunt, sister, daughter and especially Mamaw to her grandson.  Mrs. Shattles enjoyed living life to the fullest but her greatest delight was spoiling her beloved grandson, Aiden and her cat, Brin.  She was a faithful and active member of Sherwood Baptist Church where she served her Lord by volunteering in the nursery.

Survivors include her daughter, Lindsey Cole (Mason) and her beloved grandson, Aiden Cole, all of Albany; father, John Mark Hickox (Lois) of Blakely; sisters, Velma Hamon (Gordon) of Albany, Mary Kaye Nobles (David) of Thomasville, Carol Ann Dykes (Larry) of Dothan, AL, Kristy McLemore (Joe) of Washington, IL, and Tracy Jenkins (Michael) of Blakely; brother, Danny Poston of Blakely; niece, Adrienne Leigh of Albany along with many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members; and her special cat, Brin.

Mrs. Shattles was preceded in death by her mother, Verna Albritton Hickox and her step-mother, Jo Poston Hickox.
