Ed Blalock, Sr.

Mr. James Edward “Ed” Blalock, Sr., 76 of Poulan, died on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Fields, Rev. Phillip Lawson and Mr. Jason Blalock officiated. 

Mr. Blalock was born on September 16, 1942 in Worth County., to the late Leonard Eugene and Romer Franklin Blalock. He had lived in Poulan all of his life and was retired from Craftmade as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, and working in his yard, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Blalock attended the Church Of God Of Prophecy.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Suggs Blalock of Poulan; children, Patricia Dyess (Terry) of Doerun, Angie Brock (Greg) of Sumner, Donna Crosby (Leon) of Poulan, and Jamie Blalock (Kelly) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Jason Blalock, Cody Dyess, Corey Dyess, Jessica Dyess, Zachary Jackson, Josh Jackson, Devin Brock, Dayton Brock, Justin Crosby, Brittney Blalock, and Kaycee Blalock; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Pete Blalock of Poulan; sisters, Betty Nipper of Ashburn and Carri Lee Truelove of Cairo and Mary McWaters of Poulan, Martha Ann Handley of Fitzgerald; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Blalock was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie E. Blalock , William C. Blalock, Paul Woods; and a sister, Rosa Lee Matthews.
