Ruby Parker

Mrs. Ruby Ethel Parker, 86 of Poulan, died on Monday, July 22, 2019 at her residence.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Pine Hill Baptist Church, interment followed in the Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Walt Tompkins, Rev. Donnie Wright and Rev. Charles McCardle officiated.

Mrs. Parker was born on January 14, 1933 in Worth County to the late James T. and Clyde Lorene Saunders Hartsfield. She had lived in Poulan since 1963 and was formerly with the Poulan Cotton Mill and Sylvester Textile. Mrs. Parker enjoyed fishing, working in her garden but most importantly she loved spending time with her family especially her grand and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.  

Survivors include her children, Geneva Causey (Ralph) of Poulan; son-in-law, Jackie Townson of Turner County; children, Jimmy Parker (Elizabeth) of Poulan and Jeanette Barfield (Buddy) of Poulan; sisters, Margie Justice, LaRue Perkins (David), Mary Brown (Gary) and Linda Littleton; brother, Junior Hartsfield (Mary); grandchildren, Rewa Cook (Joey), Celeste Rutland (Eric), Harlie Towson (Dawn), Jimmy Parker (Jennifer), Theo Parker (Jennifer Bennett), Jessica Sandlin (Jason), Jedidiah Barfield (Lynn), Allyson Pritchett (Stevie); 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Harlie Parker on December 24, 2012; a daughter, Genice Parker Townson; siblings, Dorothy Hartsfield Collins Albright, J.W. Hartsfield, Gene Hartsfield, Annette Hartsfield Hamm and Floyd Hartsfield.
