Bobby Youngblood

R.E. “Bobby” Youngblood, 85, of Ashburn went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19,2019. He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Lisa Youngblood Johnson.

Bobby was born June 20, 1934 and graduated from Sycamore High School in 1952. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he held the longest continuous membership. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954-58 and was a farmer and cattleman. He was a founding member of the Georgia Limousin Association and served as a director. He was an Honorary Chapter Farmer and named the Soil Conservationist of the Year in 1978. The family was named Farm Family of the Year in 1981 and in 2010 Youngblood Farm was honored in the Georgia Centennial Program. He also served on the Presidential Business Commission under President George W. Bush.

He is survived by Lillian, his wife of almost 65 years of marriage; two children, Lori Youngblood of Buford and Lynn (Jerry) Davis of Ashburn; sister, Mattie Lou Chaffin of Jonesburo; sister-in-law, Jessie C. Youngblood of Ashburn; several loving nieces and nephews and his one and only favorite granddaughter, Lacy Stephens (Zac) West, his namesake grandson, Robert “Robby” Stephens and Jay Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 22, 2019 at Harmony Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Perry Funeral Home.
