Mrs. Geneva Grace Perry Tompkins, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Cypress Pond Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Silas Carver officiating. David Tompkins will be giving a eulogy. Interment to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM before the service at the funeral home.
Daniel Tompkins, David Tompkins, Benjamin Tompkins, Titus Tompkins, Elijah Tompkins, Jared Tompkins, Jacob Tompkins, Levi Tompkins and Luke Tompkins will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Tompkins was born November 22, 1933, in Crisp County to the late Walter James Perry and Martha Alma Cox Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Byron Perry. Mrs. Tompkins was a member of Pine View Holiness Baptist Church. She and her husband were very active in their church and loved to sing together in church. She graduated in 1950, from Tifton High School and taught piano lessons. She was a homemaker who was known for her sewing ability, cake baking, biscuits making and chicken and dumplings. Mrs. Tompkins loved her family and especially enjoyed cooking Sunday lunches for the family. She was a good farmer’s wife to her husband and really enjoyed the farm life. She would always say that their life was blessed and wonderful.
Mrs. Tompkins is survived by her husband J. N. “Dick” Tompkins to who she was married for sixty-seven years; four sons and daughters-in-law David Ray and Donna Tompkins of Brunswick, John Marcus and Tammy Tompkins of Cartersville, Paul Alan and Lynda Tompkins of Moultrie and James Douglas and Sandy Tompkins of Norman Park; nine grandsons and seven great grandchildren.
