James Pitt

Mr. James Melvin Pitts, 58, of Tifton, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Kenny Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ray Willis, David Golden, Don Conger, B. J. Pitts, Levi Eunice, D. J. Conger and Andrew Anthony will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Pitts was born September 25, 1961 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late James Troy Pitts and Maxie Mae Harper Pitts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Sherry Renae Pitts, his sister Connie Pacella and his brother Willie Jake Pitts, Sr. Mr. Pitts was a truck driver for thirty-four years and retired from Butler Transportation. He was a member of New Hope Full Gospel Church in Sylvester. James enjoyed fishing and boating. He enjoyed driving cross country in his semi-truck. He played football in high school with Tift County Blue Devils.

Mr. Pitts is survived by his step Mother, Glenda Westbrook Pitts of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Maxie Mae and David Golden of Tifton; one brother, Willie Jake Pitts, Jr.; his half-brother, Aaron Pitts of Cordele; step-brother, Ronnie LaDon Conger of Norman Park; his sister, Connie Conger Pacella and four grandchildren.
