Florence Forehand Hill

Florence Forehand Hill, 83, wife of the late Cliff Russell Hill, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 7, 2013.

A native of Sylvester, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Judge William Clyde Forehand and Ethel Morse Forehand. In addition to her husband and parents, Florence was preceded in death by her son, Clifford Clyde “Don” Hill; brothers, Bill Forehand and Oliver Forehand and sister, Sara Matthews.

Florence received her Bachelors in Education from the University of Georgia and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog football fan and attended many games with her husband, sister and family members. Florence enjoyed her many years as a member of Sparta Baptist Church where she served in the choir. She also enjoyed serving in the choir at Briarwood Baptist Church in Watkinsville. She loved playing Bridge and traveling with her sister, Mary Nell. Most of all, she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a devoted friend to those who knew her.

Survivors include her children, Scott (Karen) Hill of Decatur, Brian (Donna) Hill of Bogart and Patrick (Nicki) Hill of Statesboro; sister, Mary Nell Dixon of Colbert; grandchildren, Katie, Erin, Andy, Brandon, Adam, Amanda, Caroline, Lindsey and Davis Hill and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 8, 2013 from 7 to 8 at Lord & Stephens West in Bogart, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 11AM at Sparta Baptist Church in Sparta, Georgia. The family will also receive friends at 10AM at the church.

Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sparta Baptist Church, 9090 E. Broad Street, Sparta, Georgia 31087.
