Christine Jones Harrison

Mrs. Christine Jones Harrison, 93, of Sylvester died Thursday April 17, 2014 at the Willson Hospice House.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 19, 2014 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Poulan Cemetery. Rev. Trey McDonald will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be David McDonald, Trey McDonald, Lance Swain, Michael Mills, Greg Hegwood, Brandi Terry, Billy Terry and Tony Mills.
Mrs. Harrison was born on August 17, 1920 in Pelham, GA, to the late James Arthur and Maude Lee Rutland Hegwood. She lived in Poulan for many years before moving to Albany in 1967. Mrs. Harrison was retired from Coats and Clark and attended Westview  Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and watching the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include her children, Frank Wingate of Parker, CO, Patricia “Nita” McDonald (Weyman) of Oak Ridge, TN and Yvonne Terry of Albany; brothers, Cluese Hegwood of Warner Robins and Ronald Hegwood of Conyers; sister, Virginia Johnston of Lithonia; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer S. “Tug” Jones on June 6, 1965 and a daughter, Geraldine Wingate Mills.
