Linda Joyce Sledge

Mrs. Linda Joyce Sledge, 70, of Ty Ty died Tuesday May 13, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday May 16, 2014 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Evergreen Cemetery. Reverends Jim Duggan and Ronnie Howell officiated.
Pallbearers included Shannon Sledge, Dennis Sledge, Chris Pope, Johnny Dillard, Herbret Edmondson and Nicky Jackson.
Mrs. Sledge was born on December 20, 1943 in Albany to the late William “Bill” and Willene Williams Fowler. She lived in Ty Ty since 1975 and was a homemaker. Mrs. Sledge enjoyed bingo, traveling, golf and going to truck pull competitions. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ty Ty.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Sledge of Ty Ty; daughters, Renee Dillard (Don Grant) of Bargersville, IN and Linda Edmondson (Herbert) of Ty Ty; sons, Johnny Dillard of Ty Ty; Shannon Sledge (Hope) of Ty Ty and Dennis Sledge (Tammy) of Ty Ty; daughter-in-law, Patricia “Pat” Dillard of El Paso, TX; nine grandchildren; sister, Betty Trowbridge (Larry) of Moultrie; several nieces and nephews and her feline companion, Little Bit.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Sledge was preceded in death by her son, Kendall Dillard on March 9, 2013 and two daughters, Lorie Ann Dillard and Cindy Ann Dillard.
