Mrs. Annie (Ann) Monroe Ford, 81, of Albany died Wednesday, July 02, 2014 at Pruitt Health/Palmyra Nursing Home.
The funeral service was held at 1:00 PM on Saturday July 5, 2014 at the Red Oak Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Red Oak Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Harris and Dr. Seth Ford will officiate.
Mrs. Ford was born on August 27, 1932 in Oakfield to the late William Hurbert and Lucy Gregory Monroe. She had lived in Worth, Dougherty and Lee Counties all of her life. Mrs. Ford, along with her husband, owned and operated the Cross Roads Grocery Store for many years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Ford was a member of the Philema Road Baptist Church. She was a former Sunday School Teacher.
Survivors include her children, Henry I. Ford of Albany and Gregory M. Ford (Susan) of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Stephanie G. Ford, Dr. G. Seth Ford (Sarah), Heather F. Stanfill (Brett) and Matthew H. Hanger (Brandy); 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva M. Gwaltney (Javy) of Sylvester.
The family received friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the service hour at the church.
Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ford on April 3, 2008; 3 brothers and a sister.
