Francis Marion Salisbury Davis

Mrs. Francis Marion Salisbury Davis, 92, of Sylvester died July 25, 2013.  Born in Ocoee, FL in 1920, she was the daughter of Martha Lanorah Pounds Salisbury and Samuel Trowbridge Salisbury, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her siblings Agnes, Sam, Bob, and Betty Hager. She was a 1942 graduate of the University of Georgia with a BS degree in Foods and Nutrition from the School of Home Economics. She married Henry Gordon Davis, Jr. on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941 in North Augusta, SC. She was a member of Sylvester First Baptist Church, the Barnard Trail Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Jefferson Davis Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Sylvester Woman’s Club, Garden Club, and Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan attending games regularly until the last few years and she closely followed the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Henry Gordon Davis, Jr; son, Henry Gordon Davis, III (Anne); daughters, Francis Marion “Monie” Davis Moody (Doug), Margaret “Peggy” Davis Harris (Buddy), and Barbara  “Babs” Jeanne Davis Alley (Condy); grandchildren, Gordon Davis IV, Bobby Moody (Sherri), Lee Moody (Tracy), Missy Harris Johnson (Dave), Henry Marion “Rusty” Harris II (Felise), Will Jeter, Wendy Moody Gustin (Bill),  Elizabeth Moody Green (Bryan), Lauren Davis, Eli McCrory, Catherine Davis, J. Gordon McCrory, and Stuart McCrory; great-grandchildren, Davis and Madison Moody, Lily and David Johnson, Maggie and Abbey Harris, sister-in-law, Lillian Davis Burnett, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home, Sylvester with the funeral service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 31 at First Baptist Church, Sylvester, GA. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Dr. Ben Bush officiating.
Pallbearers will included Gordon Davis IV, Bobby Moody, Lee Moody, Henry Marion “Rusty” Harris II,  Will Jeter, Eli McCrory, J. Gordon McCrory, and Stuart McCrory.

Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester is in charge of arrangements.
