David Rouse Malcolm Book Signing
Join local author David Rouse Malcolm at the Margaret Jones Public Library from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 8 as he discusses his newly published book “Home Place: Remembering a Way of Life Long Gone.”
The book is based on a series of 52 landscape paintings by Malcolm depicting an abandoned South Georgia farm during different seasons of the year and different times of the day from dawn to night. Malcolm writes that the house in the landscapes is “the emblem of a bygone era, a place where good character was formed through both word and deed.”
David is a retired artist/educator who lives in Fitzgerald with his wife Shirley. He attended the University of Georgia and earned a degree in graphic design. Many of his award winning paintings can be found in both private and public collections. Recently David was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Chamber of Commerce.
