In Celebration of GA Cities Week the City of Sylvester was joined by Worth County Forestry Queens to plant two trees on April 23, 2013. At 10 a.m. they planted a Tulip Popular at Gervaise Lawhorne Park followed by the planting of a Sycamore in the play area of Shipp Park at 1 p.m.
Councilman Randy Hill of Ward 1 presented the Worth County Forestry Queens with a certificate of appreciation from the City of Sylvester for their second year of participation in GA Cities Week. The 2012 Queens planted a River Burch at Shipp Park during the week-long celebration in 2012
