Ty Ty student inducted into honor societies at TU

Leon Brunty (left) of Ty Ty, Georgia, receives a certificate for his membership in the Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda at Thomas University from co-adviser Dr. Claire Dede Avery during an induction ceremony held Thursday, May 5, on TU’s Main Campus in Thomasville. Alpha Sigma Lambda is an honor society for non-traditional students age 26 or older who have earned a minimum 3.2 GPA while taking at least 24 undergraduate semester hours. On May 5 Brunty was also inducted into Alpha Chi Alpha, a national honor society for juniors and seniors in the top 10 percent of their class. Inductees must also have a minimum GPA of 3.5, participate in student activities, show evidence of community participation, and be of good character and reputation.
