Sheriff Jeff Hobby recently sent Deputy John Sumner a former Detention Officer with the Worth County Sheriff’s Office to the 273rd Session of Basic Mandate Class in Tifton. Deputy Sumner Graduated on September 19, 2014 from the Police Academy at the ABAC campus. Deputy John Sumner distinguished himself and the Worth County Sheriff’s Office by earning the second place award for Academics during the 273rd Session. Sheriff Jeff Hobby and the Worth County Sheriff’s Office personnel are proud to welcome Deputy Sumner as the newest deputy for the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Sumner is currently going through a Field Training program with the Worth County Sheriff’s Office. After completion of the Field Training Program Deputy Sumner will be assigned to a permanent shift.
