Charles Fred Rollins, Jr.

OI1951903083_CharlesRollinsborderMr. Charles Fred Rollins, Jr. , age 83, of Millwood, died late Monday night (10/27/14) at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs, Florida following an extended illness.

Born August 22, 1931 in Kissimmee, FL, he was the son of the late Charles and Agnes Bland Rollins, Sr.  He lived many places while serving in the US Navy, retiring after 22 years as a Rank E-9 as an engine mechanic.  He served in the Korean War and had also worked at the White House and Camp David under President Richard Nixon.  After retirement, he moved to Dade City, FL where he was a citrus grove manager, managing the most trees in Pasco County, FL.  He then moved to Millwood  in 2010.  He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Rollins.

Survivors include his life companion, Yvonne Murphy of Millwood; 3 children, Charles Fred Rollins III (wife Sherry) of St. Petersburg, FL, Melody Lane Morrison (husband Richard) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Dr. Louise Wilder (husband Frank) of Sylvester, GA; 4 grandchildren, Charles Rollins IV (wife Katy) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Heather D. Rollins of Tampa, Florida, Richard Morrison, Jr, (wife Magdalena) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Jason Edward Smith (fiancé Jessica Srom) of St. Petersburg, FL; 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Bill Rollins (wife Rosemarie) of Dade City, FL; 2 sisters, Nina Ashbrook and Lois Nell Stevens, both of Dade City, FL; his constant companion, his dog Charlie; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Thursday morning at 11 AM in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Hart Funeral Home of Blackshear is in charge of arrangements.
