Vonnie Mitchell McGill

CrossMrs. Vonnie Mitchell McGill, 58, of Manchester, TN, and formerly of Worth County, GA, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.
The funeral service was held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Northside Baptist Church in Sylvester, GA with interment following at 2:00 PM in the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, GA. The Reverends David Holland and Jimmy Cargle officiated.
Mrs. McGill was born in Tifton, GA on February 15, 1957 to Ray Levone and Clarice Morris Mitchell. She had lived in Manchester for the past 8 years, moving there from Beaufort, SC. Mrs. McGill was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers’ Sorority and employed with the Tullahoma City Schools as a 9th Grade Teacher. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her children and grandchildren. Mrs. McGill was a member of New Visions Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN.
Survivors include her husband, Maj. Thomas J. “Jeff” McGill, Jr., USMC (Ret.) of Manchester, TN; daughters, Bethany McGill-Thorne (Landon) of Sumner, GA, Meagan McGill Maxson (Stephen) of Helena, AL and Amanda Claire McGill of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Tommy Thorne, Charlie Thorne and Audrey Claire Maxson; mother, Clarice M. Mitchell of Anderson City, GA and brother, Mark Mitchell (Gina) of Warwick, GA.
Mrs. McGill was preceded in death by her father, Ray Levone Mitchell on September 7, 2011 and her little sister, Joy Michele Mitchell on September 23, 1969.
