Phyllis Dixon

Mrs. Phyllis Anne Bassett Dixon died in her beloved lake home on August 20, 2015 in Melrose, FL following a long-term illness.

Mrs. Dixon was born on in Jacksonville, FL on January 13, 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bassett. She graduated from the Robert E. Lee High School and Jones College. She was of the Methodist faith and spent many years living in Jacksonville, FL, Sylvester, GA, Duluth, GA and Melrose, FL.

Prior to retiring several years ago, Mrs. Dixon assisted in business operations of D.E.Dixon & Associates engineering firm. Previously, she operated a Western Auto in Sylvester, GA and was a licensed REALTOR.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by her husband, Mr. Donald Dixon, whom she loved for many years; her sons, J. Steven Purvis and Scott (Donna) Purvis and daughter Misty R. (Grover) Purvis; her grandchildren, Kristy (Joe) Carberry, Tyler Walker, Michael Purvis and Mitchell Purvis and one greatgrandchild, Karoline Carberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Charlie and Dale Bassett.

A private family ceremony will be held. Condolences may be mailed to 148 Bull Pond Lane, Hawthorne, FL
