Few times of the year are as welcomed from Worth County citizens as Georgia Peanut Festival time. This year is no exception. It’s especially anticipated since it is the 50th Anniversary of the Georgia Peanut Festival.
As events leading up to the festival begin, one of the most treasured traditions is the Annual Miss Georgia Peanut Pageant. With special entertainment and local celebrities taking part in the event, there was no shortage of excitement surrounding this year’s pageant.
Ms. Lizz Yoder served as Mistress of Ceremony for the gala event. She was a finalist of the Atlanta competition for the popular singing show “The Voice” and a top 10 finalist of the Tifton competition for “American Idol.”
Also part of the great entertainment provided was Thomas Roberts, whose self-choreograghed solo “Smooth Criminal” helped him achieve 2012 National Dancer of the Year. In 2012 he was a Junior Dance Crew Member for Celebrity Carnival cruise which toured Mexico. He is currently under an apprenticeship with Sarah Brinson from “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Acting for Dancers”.
