Eugene L. Dorminy, age 81 of Worth Co. Ga., died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by family and under the care of Reflection Hospice.
Graveside services were held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Poulan Cemetery with Rev. Douglas Hatcher officiating. The family received family at the graveside prior to the service.
Mr. Dorminy was born June 20, 1934 to the late John L. and Gertrude Willis Dorminy. He served his country with the U.S. Coast Guard and retired from management in the auto industry. He had lived in the area for more than 30 years and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Gene enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gloria Peak Dorminy, children, Sherri (Buck) Purifoy and Gary Eugene (Kate) Dorminy, grandchildren, Ashley (Cody) Higginbothem, William Todd (Cherree) Purifoy, Robert William Purifoy, Bettyanne Dorminy and Brittany Dorminy, 9 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Mandell (Joanne) Dorminy, Joyce Bowen, Betty Hall, Gloria Teal, Hattie (Carroll) Tennison, and Geraldine Bell.
Reflection Cremation & Funeral Service of Tifton was in charge of arrangements.
