Mrs. Ila Shiver Baxley, 94, of Doerun died Sunday December 15, 2013 at Magnolia Manor South in Moultrie.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday December 18, 2013 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Harrell will officiate.
Mrs. Baxley was born in Worth County on June 25, 1919 to the late Joel Jackson and Cassie Willis Shiver. She lived in Worth County all her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Baxley loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara B. Kemp and her husband David of Orange Park, FL and Mary B. Dickerson and her husband Jimmy of Doerun; grandchildren, Karen Beasley of Doerun and Carole Lampke and her husband Mike of Savannah; great-grandchildren, Jessie Beasley and Jacqueline and Kimberly Lampke; sister-in-law, Nell C. Shiver of Sylvester; brother-in-law, Ulmer R. Pope of Tampa, FL; special friend and caregiver, Glenda O’Neal and a special friend Ruth Byrd.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Baxley was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Mr. Leonard E. Baxley who died on May 16, 2006.
