Pauline McDowell Gardner

Pauline McDowell Gardner, 96, of Brinson, GA, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.
Mrs. Gardner was born September 15, 1917, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of William Rufus McDowell and Missouri Barber McDowell. She was a homemaker and member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Georgia G. Ayers (Russ) of Crawfordville, FL, Carolyn G. Conard (Bobby) of Sylvester, GA, Joyce G. Kolbuss (Jerry) of Bainbridge, GA, Patricia G. Elsberry (Ken) of Quitman, GA, Allen Gardner (Wilda) of Brinson, GA, Charles Gardner (Kathy) of Brinson, GA, Sammy Gardner (Cathy) of Colquitt, GA, Steve Gardner (Debbie) of Brinson, GA and Burl Gardner (Sheila) of Sylvester; her 27 grandchildren; her 41 great-grandchildren; and her six great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Gardner; her sons, Harvey Barrett and Herbert McGinnis, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Paula Conway Pitts, Daryl McGinnis, Todd Pittman, and Melissa “Missy” Pittman.
