David Loyd

Mr. David Loyd, 79, of Oakfield died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Red Oak Baptist Church with interment following in the Red Oak Cemetery.  Rev. Rob Gray officiated.
Mr. Loyd was born on September 29, 1938 in Toomsboro, GA to the late John Ivey and Amanda Catherine Pate Loyd.  He had lived in Southwest Georgia most of his life moving to Worth County in 1978.  Mr. Loyd was a skilled laborer who worked in several area factories including Sylvester Textile and Proctor & Gable.  He enjoyed fishing and cooking for his family and friends.  Mr. Loyd was a devoted family man who adored his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was also a man of faith who loved his Lord Jesus with all his heart.  Mr. Loyd was an active and faithful member of Red Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, David Loyd, Jr. (Patty) of Arkansas, J.I. Loyd (Angie) of Leesburg, Ricky Loyd (Lindsay) of Loganville and Jody Loyd of Hawkinsville; daughters, Deniese McKinney of Albany, Darlene Bell (Mike) of Sylvester and Melissa White of Albany; sister, Bertha Mae Mims of Pelham; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, with number 18 arriving soon; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Loyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma Jean Curles Loyd on January 3, 2012; a son, Jimmy Loyd and several siblings.
