On Feb. 1, 2014, members of the Sylvester Police Department, acting on a tip from a concerned citizen, located and arrest Kevin Hooks. Hooks was wanted on pending drug charges from a June 14, 2013 case. He had been on the run since that time and media outlets assisted with placing lookouts. Hooks is currently in the Worth County jail and has been charged with several felonies including: obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of controlled substance with the intent (marijuana), possession of crack cocaine with intent, possession of powder cocaine with intent and misdemeanor charges of pedestrian on or along roadway, obstructing officer, possession of drug related object.
