Mr. Rick Gilpatrick, 72 of Sylvester died on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Carl Vinson Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia.
The funeral service was held at 10:00 AM on Thursday September 26, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Gordon Poole officiated.
Mr. Gilpatrick was born on May 23, 1947 in Gardiner, Maine., to the late Kenneth and Eleanor Wiles Gilpatrick. He had lived in Sylvester for the past 15 years and was a United Sates Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Gilpatrick was a member of VFW William F. Sikes Post #4825 where he served as Chaplain, Vice Commander and Service Officer. He was a long distance truck driver and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Webb Gilpatrick of Sylvester; stepchildren, Faye McDonald of Sylvester, Ray McDonald of Sylvester, Gary McDonald of Doerun; Sisters, Joan Noble, Jean Stone; Brothers, Dale Gilpatrick and Keith Kilpatrick.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilpatrick was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Beth.
