Charles H. Mullis Jr.

Posted on July 15, 2014 By Sylvester Local

Charles H.Mullis Jr. went to be with the Lord June 27 2014. He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather.  He was born in Sylvester November 7, 1934 to Charles Mullis and Ethel Poston Mullis and lived most of his life in Sylvester and Albany. He graduated from Sylvester High School and North Georgia College where he attained the rank of Regimental Commander. After two years of service in the Army, he returned to Albany where he worked for Proctor and Gamble as a sales representative for 33 years. After early retirement, he devoted himself to the things he loved; his family, church, travel and his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, hunting, fishing, and especially growing wild flowers. He was a member of First Baptist Church for 42 years where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher. In later years, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 57 years Patricia (Pat) Patterson Mullis, children Candy Mullis of Atlanta, Harold (Hal) Mullis (Laura) of Seattle, Patricia (Tricia) Lightle (Jim) of Atlanta, three grandchildren Sarah Lightle, Andrew Lightle and Lillian Mullis.

A memorial Service will be held July 19 at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church.  The family will receive friends following the service at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Albany Rescue Mission, 604 N. Monroe St., Albany, GA 31701, or Second Saturday Sandwich at First Presbyterian Church, 220 N. Jackson St., Albany, GA 31701.

You may sign the online guestbook and share your memories with the family of Charles H. Mullis, Jr. by visiting Kimbrell-Stern’s website at www.kimbrellstern.com.
