Elaine Ogletree Eure

Mrs. Elaine Ogletree Eure, 74, of Doerun died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday September 3, 2014 at the Pine Forest Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Roy Carrol and Rev. Grady Morey officiated.

Mrs. Eure was born on February 24, 1940 in Camilla to the late Troy Franklin and Della Roselle Glausier Ogletree.  She had lived in Worth County since 2004 moving here from Dougherty County.  Mrs. Eure was retired from Regions Bank where she worked in the Loan Department.  She was a member of the Pine Forest Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School class for the Senior Adults and sang in the choir. She enjoyed preparing Santa Bags for her family and Sunday School Class. Mrs. Eure was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary of Sylvester. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, James L. “Jim” Eure of Doerun; children, Karen Elaine English of Gainesville, FL, Steven W. Eure (Penny) of Leary and Rhonda Leigh Smith (Jack) of Leesburg; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Chapman (Joe) of Fair Play, SC and Marilyn McKnight of Lawrenceville.

Mrs. Eure was preceded in death by her brother, Wondell Ogletree and a son-in-law, James F. English.

Active pallbearers included Johnnie Kent, Darrell Moore, Tim Sizemore, Roy Sumner, Scott Patterson, Stephen Parker and Wade Brady.  Honorary pallbearers included David Webb, Tom Patterson, Larry Walters, William Sledge, Harold Patterson, Richard Ulm, Buddy Welch, Thomas Harrell and Ernest Willis.
