First Joint Forest Management Meeting Held

Posted on May 6, 2016May 6, 2016 By Sylvester Local

The Worth County UGA Extension along with the Georgia Forestry Commission held our first joint Forest Management Meeting on April 7th 2016. There were 30 landowners in attendance who heard talks from Dr. David Moorehead : UGA who spoke on invasive species and weed management in planted pine stands and Mark McClure : Georgia Forestry who ended the program with an update on GFC’s forest health program. Landowners were able to get questions answered and some area Foresters were able to get credits for attending the class. Thanks to Blake Crabtree for this vision and the many sponsors that made this program possible.
