hooks pictureGerald Wayne Hooks, 76, peacefully passed away the morning of Monday, November 10, 2014 at his residence.

A Graveside Service was held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Kimball United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Robert Web officiated.

Mr. Hooks was born in Anderson City/Worth County on April 1, 1938 to the late Rock and Gladys Massey Hooks.  He grew up playing sports for the Worth County High School. Mr. Hooks took an interest in carpentry and construction which became his profession throughout his life.  He started out building houses in his hometown community.  Mr. Hooks later went to work for Fickling and Walker Development Company in Macon, retiring after 20 years of service.  Retirement was not to his liking, so he went back to work for Cogan Industries and later for Robert Webb Construction.  Mr. Hooks finally settled down in his second retirement.  He was an avid sports fan and would not miss a NASCAR race, Falcons, Braves, or UGA game!  Mr. and Mrs. Hooks celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on March 25, 2014. Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Jeannene Rogers Hooks; daughters, Kimberly Hooks Neal (James), Dana Hooks Reese (James) and Monica Hooks West (Joel); grandchildren, Reagan Reese, Claudia Neal, Stuart Reese, Cade West and Connor West; sister, Jean H. O’Steen and brother, Winston Hooks (Laura).

For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Kimball Cemetery Fund C/O Carol Hancock, 4010 GA Hwy 33 South, Doerun, GA 31744 or your favorite charity.

Please sign our online guest registry at www.banksfh.com .

Banks Funeral Home of Sylvester is in charge of the arrangements.
