Hilda Holden Dykes

Mrs. Hilda Holden Dykes, 84, of Sylvester died Friday June 13, 2014 at Pine Shadows Retirement Manor.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday June 15, 2014 at Banks Funeral Home with interment following in the Providence Cemetery. Reverends John Powell and Ray Burnette officiated.
Pallbearers included Casey Rouse, Dustin Griffin, Jody Thompson, Kevin Dykes, Jimmy Rouse and John L. Jackson.
Mrs. Dykes was born on July 27, 1929 in Colquitt County to the late General Jackson and Clarice Nix Holden. She lived most of her life in Worth County. Mrs. Dykes was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking. She loved her family especially her grand and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Bobbie Ann Rouse (Billy) of Sylvester; son, Leonard Dykes (Jeanne) of Tifton; grandchildren, Melissa Thompson (Jody), Kevin Dykes (Lisa), Keith Dykes and Casey Rouse (Sabrina); great-grandchildren, Dustin Griffin, Brandon Thompson, Langley Dykes and Liam Dykes; sisters, Selma Hill of Sylvester, Carolyn Price of Jacksonville, NC and Jane Roop of Austell; sister-in-law, Beetsy McMichael of Valdosta and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Dykes was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Preston Dykes on October 27, 1981.
The family would especially like to thank her Pine Shadows family for their loving care.
