James Helms

Mr. James Kerry Helms, 60, of Sylvester died Friday July 26, 2019 at his residence.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday July 29, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Rev. Donnie and Rev. Mike Davis officiated. The interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery with full Masonic Rites.

Mr. Helms was born on March 3, 1959 in Worth County to the late James Shelby and Clarice Carmichael Helms. He had lived in Sylvester all his life and was retired from Helms Welding after 40 years. Mr. Helms was a member of First Baptist Church in Sylvester and  the past Master of the Worth Lodge #194 F&AM. Mr. Helms was a member of the Albany Shrine Club and the Royal Order Jesters Court #159. He enjoyed leather working, collecting guns, fishing and was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan.

 Survivors include his wife, Margaret Horne Helms of Sylvester; children, Beau Helms (Lisa) of Fitzgerald, Katie Helms Blanton (Carly) of Tifton, Brady Hart (Caroline) of Newnan and Garrett Hart of Powder Springs; granddaughter, Kara Helms; brother, Richard Helms (Kim) of Sylvester, nephew, Rick Helms (Jana) of Putney; mother-in-law, Laura Jane Horne of Dawson; canine children, Cabo and Julie and a host of nieces and nephews.

The Worth County Masonic Lodge will serve as Pallbearers.
