Mrs. Joyce Brooks Burrell, 73, of Sylvester GA died on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Northside Baptist Church interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. JImmy Cargle and Rev. Jerry Cooper officiated.
Mrs. Burrell was born on August 17, 1944 in Sylvester GA to the late Richard P. and Zola McDonald Brooks. She has lived in Worth County all of her life and was a beautician for over 52 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Burrell was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Carter Phillips Burrell of Sylvester, sons, Richard Christopher Burrell (Jennifer), Carter Phillips Burrell, Jr. (Nancy) all of Sylvester; grandchildren Madison Lee Burrell, Kylee Brooke Burrell and Zoe Grace Burrell; siblings, Thomas P. Brooks, Rebecca Ann Haire and Kay Brooks Young all of Sylvester.
Pallbearers included, Todd Ford, Jason Dupree, Dr. Craig Boatwright, Braid Haire, Allen McCorvey and Darin Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to the American Lung Association, 6852 Belfort Oaks Place, Jacksonville, FL 32216-6241 or the American Heart Association, 3338L, Country Club Road, PMB 305, Valdosta, GA 31605.
